According to the doctors, the incident occurred on the night of February 1, when the girl T.S.A., born in 2024, accidentally swallowed a foreign object that her parents initially thought was a coin. They only sought medical help several hours later — around 11:00 AM on February 2.
During the gastroscopy, it was found that a large flat battery was lodged in the area of the pharyngeal-esophageal transition. The operation to remove it was conducted in collaboration with ENT specialists and was successful.

However, further examination revealed serious complications: the girl was diagnosed with a deep chemical burn of II–III degree on both sides of the esophagus. This is a typical consequence of tissue contact with batteries, which can cause instant chemical reactions leading to severe damage.
The girl is currently receiving the necessary medical assistance, and her condition is being monitored by doctors. Specialists remind parents of the importance of seeking immediate help in cases of battery ingestion, as every minute counts.
Earlier, there was another incident reported: in January, a 2-year-old child underwent emergency surgery to remove 17 swallowed magnets from a toy at the Osh Regional Children's Clinical Hospital.
