An emergency surgery was performed on a 2-year-old patient at the Osh Interregional Children's Clinical Hospital.

This was reported by Zhyrgalbek Tolorov, the chief physician of the institution.

On January 15, during the evening shift, the baby was admitted to the hospital after swallowing 17 magnetic toys.

According to the doctors, the child experienced vomiting spells for three days. Initially, he was taken to the Nookat District Hospital.

After an X-ray examination, foreign bodies were found in the intestines, which led to the patient's transfer to the Osh Regional Children's Hospital. Considering the critical condition of the baby, the surgeons performed an urgent intervention and successfully removed all 17 magnets.

At the moment, the child's condition is stable. The doctors continue the necessary treatment, and the baby is under close observation.

“It is important to remember: magnetic toys pose a serious danger to children. When several magnets are swallowed, they can connect with each other in the gastrointestinal tract, which can lead to intestinal damage, severe consequences, and the need for surgical intervention. Parents should pay special attention to the safety of their children,” emphasized the medical staff.
