In the Naryn region, a 30-year-old resident of the village of Ak-Zhar in the At-Bashinsky district, Baybolot Kamchybek uulu, fully compensated for the damage caused by the death of sheep for which he was responsible.

According to local residents, Bekbolot was herding 820 sheep belonging to 14 owners in the Kara-Tuu area. On January 2, 2026, at around 4:00 PM, the sheep were frightened by dogs, causing 186 of them to fall off a cliff one after another and die. The height of the cliff was about 50 meters, and the length of the fall area was approximately 100 meters.

Upon arriving at the scene, the livestock owners assessed the damage. As a result, it was decided to write off 86 sheep, and the cost of the remaining 100 sheep was to be collected from Baybolot. The total damage amounted to about 1 million soms. Since Baybolot's parents had already passed away, it was difficult for him to pay such an amount alone. Therefore, his older brothers and the villagers consulted and reached out to concerned citizens for help.

The residents of Ak-Zhar and other regions of Kyrgyzstan supported Baybolot and did not remain indifferent. Funds were raised both through bank transfers and in cash: many donated 500–600 soms, while some contributed significantly more. In the end, 333,648 soms were collected, and with additional assistance, the debt was fully paid off. They also collected and handed over 98 heads of livestock for him.

With the support of the villagers, Baybolot completely cleared his debt. His fellow villager Chyngyz Tenti uulu kept a record of the charitable contributions in a special notebook. “Since Baybolot's parents have passed away, he had no way to pay such an amount alone. Therefore, after consulting with his brothers, we reached out to people for help. The residents of Ak-Zhar once again demonstrated the unity of the Kyrgyz people. We collected funds through the bank and in cash, as well as gathered livestock. Everyone helped as much as they could: some transferred 500–650 soms, while others contributed more. There were also those who asked not to record their names and transferred even 1 som—for the sake of a good cause. One woman said, ‘I have only 1 som left in my account—I will transfer it. Just don’t write my name. But when I receive my pension, I will transfer more,’” he shared, adding that she blessed them. Some helped collectively.

As a result, 333,648 soms were collected through the bank, and a total of 98 heads of livestock were handed over. Thanks to the support of the people, our younger brother completely cleared his debt and is no longer in a difficult situation. We express our gratitude to everyone,” he said.
