The investigation suggests that the detainee, in collusion with a high-profile manager of an oil refinery, developed a scheme that resulted in the theft of over 1,500 tons of fuel oil. The total damage from their actions is estimated at 51.78 million soms.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the successful completion of the operation was made possible by effective cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan and the USA in the fight against transnational crime.
Currently, the possibility of extraditing the detainee is being considered.
