The official spent 2.2 million soms on personal needs
The State National Security Committee (GKNB) has uncovered a corruption scheme related to the illegal transfer of land plots into private hands. This was reported in a press release from the committee.
U. B., the head of the Kara-Kul city architecture and construction department, is suspected of organizing this scheme.
According to the investigation, in 2021, while serving as the chief specialist of the urban planning and architecture department of the Uzgen district in the Osh region, U. B. received 2 million soms from M. D. for the allocation of four land plots of 7 acres each within the boundaries of the Bash-Debe rural administration. The official allegedly promised the woman to expedite the registration process and later requested an additional 200,000 soms for the registration of the plots and the preparation of the necessary documents.
However, U. B. did not manage to complete the operation as the country began an active fight against corruption. He used the funds received for personal needs.
On February 4, U. B. was detained as part of a criminal case on charges of fraud using his official position.
