Three who signed the petition for early presidential elections were detained

According to the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, three individuals have been detained in Bishkek for signing a petition demanding early presidential elections. The suspects are accused of organizing mass riots, which, according to law enforcement agencies, could have contributed to the escalation of the socio-political situation in the country.

In this regard, a criminal case has been initiated under part 1 of article 278 "Mass Riots" of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.

On the morning of February 11, the investigative authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summoned 75 signatories of the petition to the president for questioning. According to the investigation, the initiators were T. B., U. E., and D. K., all of whom were detained and placed in a temporary detention facility after searches were conducted at their homes.

The initials of the detainees have not been disclosed by the police; however, based on available information, they may be Bekbolot Talgarbekov, Emil Uzakbaev, and Kurmanbek Dykhanbaev, who are also listed among the signatories and about whom summons for questioning were reported on social media.
