According to operational information, on February 12 at around 12:00, an avalanche occurred on the pasture Boroonduu in the upper reaches of the village of Kyzyl-Oy in the Suusamyr rural district. A local resident, D.A., born in 1967, was caught under the snow. It has been reported that along with the man, 50 sheep and one horse were also buried under the snow.
Information about the incident was received by the emergency situations department of the Jaiyl district from the head of the village of Kyzyl-Oy. Forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations were mobilized to conduct search and rescue operations.
Today at 06:00, an additional 5 rescuers from the Jumgal district arrived at the scene. A total of 24 rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations are currently involved in the search operations.
