According to the agency, on January 19, information was received about suspicious individuals at the livestock market who, according to preliminary data, intended to engage in illegal arms trade.
As a result of investigative actions, two citizens were detained: S.Z., born in 1982, and T.K., born in 1994. Both suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility.
In connection with this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Article 267 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning illegal trafficking of weapons and ammunition.
During a search at the residence of the main suspect S.Z., the following items were found and seized:
- firearm of caliber 5.6 millimeters;
- shotgun model "IZH-17" of caliber 12;
- barrel for a 16 caliber shotgun;
- more than 30 cartridges and shell casings of various calibers;
- components for reloading cartridges;
- 29 homemade knives;
- religious books;
- two state license plates;
- dried plant material, the type of which is yet to be determined.
Necessary forensic examinations have been appointed for the seized items.
