At the livestock market in Tokmok, illegal weapons were being traded. Suspects detained.

According to information provided by the press service of the Main Internal Affairs Department of the Chui Region, on February 24, suspects involved in the illegal arms trade were detained.

On January 19, law enforcement agencies received information that weapons were being sold without the appropriate permits at the livestock market in the city of Tokmok.

These actions were classified under Article 267 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan, concerning the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition.

During investigative activities, police officers conducted a controlled purchase, as a result of which two individuals were detained: S.Z., born in 1982, and T.K., born in 1994.

During a search of one of the detainees, the following items were found:

- rifled weapon of caliber 5.6 mm;

- IZH-17 shotgun of caliber 12;

- barrel of a shotgun of caliber 16;

- more than 30 cartridges and casings of various calibers;

- components for reloading cartridges;

- 29 homemade knives;

- books of religious content;

- two state license plates;

- dried plant-based substance (type to be determined).

The suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility, and further investigation is currently underway.
