Since February 28, Israel and the United States have begun airstrikes on Iran. Donald Trump announced plans to destroy the nuclear developments of the Islamic Republic.

In response, Iran started attacking facilities in Israel and other Middle Eastern countries where American military bases are located. The strikes targeted Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Dubai (UAE), as well as Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).

As a result of the attacks by American-Israeli forces, the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. His wife, Mansure Khodjaste, also died from her injuries.

Donald Trump stated that military operations in Iran would last about four weeks. Iran, for its part, declared jihad against the U.S. and Israel, expressing refusal to negotiate.

The conflict in the Middle East has global consequences, affecting Kyrgyzstan as well. Currently, thousands of tourists remain stranded due to the situation in the UAE. Contact information for embassies and consulates for Kyrgyz citizens abroad can be found here.
