Journalist Detained for Inciting Mass Riots
On March 9, during monitoring of social networks, an account under the name Daniil Zhooshbaev was discovered. This user published materials that contained criticism of government bodies and structures. The Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that such publications contributed to the "discrediting of the authorities and exacerbating the socio-political situation."
The Ministry of Internal Affairs also added that in the comments to some materials, messages were posted that could lead to the destabilization of the public situation and mass riots.
In this regard, the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek initiated a criminal case under Article 278 ("Incitement to Mass Riots") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Police and the State National Security Committee identified the owner of the account. It turned out to be journalist A.A., born in 1976.
Information about the detention of journalist Altynai Arstanbekova appeared on social networks.
