In the village of Kenges, located in the Japalak rural district of the city of Osh, lives 26-year-old Daniel Kuttubek uulu. He is engaged in breeding and training thoroughbred horses, as well as selling them. He shared this with a Turmush correspondent.

Daniel acquires horses that have not yet participated in kok-boru, trains them to play, and then puts them up for sale. He is a graduate of the law faculty of Osh State University.

From a young age, Daniel became interested in horses, largely thanks to his father, who kept quality horses and actively participated in kok-boru. “He had a tradition of keeping horses, and he always took me with him to the games. I remember being placed on a calm mare, and I even fell asleep on her,” he shares.

The first horse Daniel worked with was named Grader. He raised and trained her from a foal, and she was well-suited for kok-boru. However, realizing that he would not be able to use her, he decided to sell her so as not to "ruin" her talent. This marked the beginning of his passion: he continued to develop and sell horses.

Currently, Daniel has eight thoroughbred horses, which are mainly intended for kok-boru. Half of them are Kyrgyz horses, while the others are representatives of Russian and European breeds.

When training an unbroken horse, it is important to establish a close contact: frequent grooming and brushing. After that, he starts with simple actions, gradually increasing the load. “When the horse gets used to it, we ride her, teaching turns and stops,” he adds.

The price of horses varies depending on their breed and training. “In Kyrgyzstan, even if a horse is large and stately, it is not valued if it has not participated in kok-boru. But if it performs well in the game, it can be sold for significant amounts,” Daniel explains. He recounts that he sold his most expensive horse to Chinese buyers for $60,000, while transactions usually occur in the range of $3,000 to $5,000.

Daniel also shares interesting cases from his practice. One of them happened two years ago when he accidentally "sold" the same horse to two buyers because the phone numbers were similar. This led to a funny situation when both buyers arrived at the same time.
