In Jharkhand, near the city of Chaibasa, an aggressive elephant has killed 22 people in 10 days, including a zoologist and an eight-month-old infant. This was reported by the publication Thirty Mile Zone.

The first attack occurred on New Year's Eve when the animal trampled a family with two children to death. Since then, the elephant has continued to launch attacks. It can be recognized by one tusk. Local authorities strongly recommend that residents stay indoors and avoid visiting forested areas.

Zoologists suggest that the elephant's behavior may be linked to the must phase, during which the testosterone level in males increases 100 times and can last for up to 20 days.

According to forestry representatives, the young elephant became aggressive after separating from its herd.
