In the Alamedin district of the Chui region, 40-year-old resident of the village of Archaly, Nurlan Tentimishov, has been breeding purebred Arashan sheep for less than a year. However, thanks to the support of a friend who has dedicated 20 years to this breed, Nurlan was able to immediately form an elite herd.

Recently, a unique video caught the attention of social media: the birth of twin lambs through a surgical operation. The farmer shared the details of this story in an interview with a Turmush correspondent. “The mother [ewe] of these twins is the daughter of a famous ram named Sanderst, and the father is a well-known ram in livestock circles named Atilla, whose lineage includes such purebred rams as Titanic and Vikond,” Nurlan reported.

The farmer has a veterinary degree as his first education and an economics degree as his second. Noticing that the pregnant ewe was feeling unwell and had not been able to stand for 15 days, he raised the alarm. “I reached out to friends from the 'Manas' University. We brought the ewe to their veterinary clinic. The professor and students conducted an examination. The ultrasound did not provide a clear picture due to contamination of the amniotic fluid, and it was decided to operate. I filmed the process to showcase the level of our veterinary care and the competence of the young specialists. The video quickly spread across the internet,” he says.

The results were astonishing: while ordinary lambs are born weighing 4-5 kg, Arashan lambs are much larger. One of Atilla's lambs in Nurlan's farm set a record at 11.6 kg. The twins were born after the operation weighing 7.1 kg and 6 kg. The clinic students asked to name them Saule and Zeynep, but the farmer admits that he plans to give them different names later.

Previously, Nurlan Tentimishov had a large herd of about 1,500 sheep of a common agricultural breed. But over time, he concluded that it was necessary to transition from quantity to quality. “I grew up in a village and have been accustomed to hard work since childhood. But when a job appeared in the city, it became difficult to manage such a large herd, so I sold off the ordinary livestock. In April 2025, I built a modern barn, and in September, I brought in the first Arashan sheep. My classmate Aibek Saparbekov, a well-known breeder, provided me with the best specimens from his farm. Thanks to this, I started with purebred livestock right away, and in a short time, the business began to bring not only pleasure but also income,” says the farmer.
