On the air of the radio, Professor Jumabek Zhailov, a corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan and a Doctor of Economic Sciences, noted that Bishkek is facing overpopulation and business restrictions. He emphasized that to address these issues, it is necessary to develop entrepreneurship in the regions of the country.

According to him, in one European country, there is a practice whereby the government provides financial support of about $1,000 for each job created if the business is relocated from a large city to mountainous areas.

“Why aren’t we taking advantage of such opportunities? The government currently has funds, and their amount will increase,” he added.

Zhailov also pointed out that the problem of overpopulation and transport collapse cannot be solved if the population is concentrated only in two major cities. This will not allow regions to develop.

The economist stressed the need to apply various mechanisms and borrow international experience, including approaches used in China.

“Most trade operations are conducted with China: funds come from there, railways are being built, and logistics centers are being created. We should adopt the Chinese experience and evenly distribute resources among the regions, paying attention to areas like Talas and Naryn, which are in a less developed state,” he noted.

The technological aspect also plays an important role: in Zhailov's opinion, investors should provide not only financial resources but also new technologies.

“In our country, there are currently no large enterprises like Toyota or Hyundai, so it is necessary to focus on developing medium-sized businesses and modern technological companies that can produce a variety of products. Primarily for domestic needs, and any surplus should be directed to export with consideration for diversification,” the economist added.

Additionally, he suggested developing exports to Asian countries such as Japan and China, where their own technical and phytosanitary standards apply.

Zhailov noted that in China, there is a growing population, improving living standards, and increasing demand for quality goods.

Kyrgyzstan should focus on producing organic and environmentally friendly products, such as food and clothing, as such products are in demand and the country has all the necessary resources for this, he concluded.
