The initiative to create the town comes from the president and will be implemented based on the already existing rehabilitation center "Maksat".
Health Minister Kanbek Dosmambetov visited the "Maksat" center to familiarize himself with its infrastructure, the conditions for providing assistance to children, and the possibilities for further development.
The project includes the creation of a rehabilitation town for children suffering from cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, developmental delays, and other diseases. The town will feature inpatient, outpatient, and day rehabilitation centers, as well as a specialized center for children with autism spectrum disorders and Down syndrome. Additionally, a modern center for children with cerebral palsy with 150 beds, a dormitory for parents and medical staff, as well as an educational and methodological block are planned.
As part of the town, it is planned to equip rehabilitation halls, a hydrotherapy pool, physiotherapy rooms, massage rooms, sensory integration rooms, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychology, as well as work therapy zones. Open play and rehabilitation spaces with elements of hippotherapy will also be included.
Work in the town will be based on the principles of evidence-based medicine, a multidisciplinary approach, and individual rehabilitation programs involving families. Special attention will be paid to the training of specialists and the development of a family-oriented model of assistance.
This project aligns with the priorities of state policy in the field of children's health care and rehabilitation and can serve as an example for scaling similar initiatives in other regions, which will improve the quality and accessibility of medical care for children.
