A modern state laboratory for early diagnosis is planned to be created in the Kyrgyz Republic

Kanybek Dosmambetov, the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, announced the start of work on a project aimed at creating a modern state reference laboratory in Bishkek, as reported by the ministry's press service.

The new laboratory will be equipped with modern technology and will be able to receive data through a digital platform, relying on its own logistics. Plans include the creation of an extensive network of branches in the regions, which should improve access to diagnostics and reduce the financial burden on citizens.

The reason for establishing the new center is that the existing laboratory service does not meet modern requirements, making timely diagnosis difficult, especially in cases of oncological and other serious diseases. The minister noted that late visits by patients at advanced stages of illness remain one of the main problems. He added that the lack of an effective laboratory system negatively impacts the early detection of diseases. According to him, an accurate diagnosis is an important step towards successful treatment.

The ministry also plans to focus on staffing. The Kyrgyz State Medical Academy has been tasked with exploring the possibility of opening a faculty for training specialists in laboratory diagnostics. Medical colleges have been recommended to enhance the training of laboratory technicians. For scientific and methodological support of the project, Professor Rysbek Abdildaev, an expert in the early detection of oncological diseases with experience in the USA, has been engaged.

During a visit to one of the private laboratories, the minister familiarized himself with its infrastructure and the organization of diagnostic processes, as well as quality control and logistical solutions. Private laboratories currently perform the majority of tests, which increases the financial burden on the population. The minister believes that the establishment of a unified state laboratory will help reduce these costs.

Dosmambetov paid special attention to issues of automation and digital analytics. He emphasized that electronic data exchange and disease analysis will allow for a more accurate assessment of the prevalence of diseases and risks in various regions, which will contribute to improving the healthcare system and the development of evidence-based medicine.

The ministry continues to analyze logistical and technological models to adapt optimal practices for the new reference laboratory. The project includes the construction of a laboratory from scratch, the purchase of necessary equipment, the creation of a regional network, the implementation of logistical processes and a quality control system, as well as a digital platform.
