During the meeting, the minister expressed gratitude to UN representatives for their assistance in implementing healthcare reforms. This includes initiatives such as the creation and implementation of the National Action Plan for Health Security, improving legislation in the field of public health, programs to enhance the accessibility of medical services, disease prevention, and emergency response.
Dosmambetov also highlighted the main areas of focus for his team. The primary emphasis will be on disease prevention and the transition towards forming a healthy society. Priority tasks include the prevention of non-communicable diseases, promoting a healthy lifestyle, strengthening immunization, safeguarding maternal and child health, reducing maternal mortality, enhancing epidemiological surveillance, and further developing the healthcare system.
Additionally, special attention was given to digital solutions — the implementation of electronic medical records, the development of telemedicine, and the establishment of a situational center for rapid response.
The minister expressed interest in UN assistance in modernizing medical institutions, expanding internship programs, training medical professionals abroad, and exchanging international best practices.
Antje Grave confirmed the UN's readiness to continue and expand cooperation with the Ministry of Health. She added that Kyrgyzstan is participating in a global digital transformation program with UN support and expressed the intention to assist in the further development of areas such as healthcare digitalization, immunization, maternal and child health protection, reproductive health, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
Plans for the strategic development of the UN system for 2026–2027 and the preparation of a new framework agreement on cooperation for 2028–2032 were also discussed.
