
Kanybek Dosmambetov, head of the Ministry of Health, held a meeting with Leslie Viguerie, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the United States to Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, various aspects of cooperation in the field of medicine were discussed during the conversation, including the exchange of experience in public health, disease prevention, training of medical personnel, and the implementation of modern technologies.
It was also noted at the meeting that a plan for the construction of a medical town in Bishkek is being developed as part of the healthcare infrastructure development. This project includes the possibility of acquiring modern medical and laboratory equipment, including products from well-known American companies. Special attention was given to the training and internships of Kyrgyz specialists in the United States.
According to the proposed memorandum, the United States intends to focus on three key areas:
- ensuring access to medical services and medications for people living with HIV;
- supporting the national tuberculosis control program;
- strengthening sanitary and epidemiological preparedness.
The parties expressed their desire to continue joint work in the field of healthcare, enhancing epidemiological safety, modernizing infrastructure, commercial cooperation, and training medical personnel.
