The Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic has announced the launch of a new and ambitious project to create a rehabilitation town based on the already functioning center "Maksat".
This institution will be an important step in the treatment of children suffering from cerebral palsy, autism, and Down syndrome, combining medical services with educational and scientific initiatives.
In preparation for the start of construction, Minister of Health Kanbek Dosmambetov inspected the infrastructure in Archaly.
According to the ministry's press service, the new rehabilitation center will provide comprehensive services for children with cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, as well as developmental delays and other health issues.
The town is expected to include specialized units for inpatient, outpatient, and day rehabilitation, as well as a correction center for children with autism spectrum disorders and Down syndrome. Additionally, a modern center for children with cerebral palsy, designed for 150 places, will be created, along with a dormitory for parents and medical staff, as well as an educational and methodological block.
Inside the new institution, there will be rehabilitation halls, a pool for hydrotherapy, as well as rooms for physical and kinesitherapy, massage and physiotherapy offices, areas for sensory integration, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and psychology. Functional and ultrasound diagnostics offices, occupational therapy rooms, and open spaces for rehabilitation and play, including elements of hippotherapy—adaptive horseback riding that helps improve the physical and psycho-emotional condition of children—are also planned.
The main goal of the project is to develop a sustainable human resource potential and implement a multidisciplinary approach that will eventually be extended to all regions of the country.
