Suyorbek Mamytov, a farmer from the Uzgen district of the Osh region, is actively developing breeding sheep farming, focusing on quality rather than quantity. His farm has 35 breeding sheep.

In an interview with a Turmush correspondent, the farmer shared that his journey in sheep farming began with a small herd of 10-15 sheep. He started with the Gissar breed and now takes care of "Ala-Too" sheep. "I became passionate about farming and established my farm 3-4 years ago. Now my goal is to increase the herd," noted Mamytov.

Every day, Suyorbek starts early in the morning, monitoring the diet of his sheep. He detailed the feeding routine: "In the morning, I give the sheep a bale of alfalfa hay, then I water them. After that, I feed them hay again, and in the evening, I provide compound feed of 300-400 grams for each sheep. Two hours after the compound feed, I give hay again," he added.

The farmer also highlighted the differences between breeding and regular sheep farming. Sheep from his farm are sold for prices ranging from 25,000 to 50,000 soms, while breeding rams can reach 100,000-150,000 soms and higher. "While working in Russia, I started with ordinary sheep. Later, I sold them and bought 15-20 breeding ones, which allowed me to create my farm. We sell the best ram lambs for 100,000-450,000 soms, and ewes for 15,000 to 50,000 soms," the farmer explained.

Sheep farming requires serious efforts, especially during the lambing period when it is crucial to save the lambs and prevent their mortality. Mamytov pays attention to the health of his sheep. "I don't give vitamins, preferring to feed them natural products. After the lambs are born, I give them fish oil for better growth and to prevent them from eating their mother's wool. If the sheep get sick, I consult a veterinarian, buy medications, and administer injections myself," he noted.

In addition to feeding, the farmer cares about cleanliness in the pen. "I love cleanliness and teach my children this. I clean up the trash and sweep after feeding. If hay is scattered, I level everything and clean it up. I collect manure in bags. If it gets wet in the pen, I add dry manure to ensure comfortable conditions for the sheep," Mamytov added.

In Mamytov's farm, there are two breeding rams. One of them costs 200,000 soms, the other more than 100,000. "I brought a reddish-brown ram from Bishkek. He has 4 teeth, weighs 160 kilograms, and is currently valued at 200,000 soms. The black ram with two teeth is valued at more than 100,000 soms," the farmer shared.

Suyorbek Mamytov is married and raises three daughters and two sons.
