From Quantity to Quality. Breeding livestock is actively developing in the Manas region

In the Talas region, particularly in the Manas district, there is a steady increase in the number of farmers engaged in breeding livestock. According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, there are currently 48 cooperatives in the area focused on raising both meat and dairy cattle.

Recently, a new cooperative called "Nogoybay Ata" has been added, which specializes in breeding Auliakol breed cows. This breed is known for its ability to adapt to cold climates and high productivity in terms of meat: calves at 10 months old can weigh over 500 kilograms, and cows older than two years can exceed one ton in weight.

The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Bakyt Torobayev emphasized the need to support farmers within the framework of state policy aimed at transitioning "from quantity to quality." In particular, last year, 8 new cooperatives were established in the Manas district.

Additionally, in 2025, two breeding farms passed certification, one of which specializes in breeding Aberdeen-Angus beef cattle, while the other focuses on Holstein-Friesian dairy cows. The development of breeding livestock is crucial for increasing the production volumes of both meat and dairy products, which, in turn, contributes to the growth of farmers' incomes and strengthens the food security of the region.
