- The unification of Central Asian countries will allow for the formation of a sustainable economic strategy and increase the region's significance in the global context, noted economist Jusupzhan Pirimbaev in an interview for the radio.

According to him, the idea of cooperation among Central Asian states was raised back in 2004 at the international conference "Economies of Eurasian Countries." At that time, experts from Kyrgyzstan and representatives from universities proposed creating an economic union, which was reflected in a resolution sent to all participants in the region, including Azerbaijan.

“If such a union had been established then, the situation in the region today could be significantly different, especially considering the close ties with the Eurasian Economic Union,” emphasized the economist.

Currently, the interaction formats "5+1," which involve China, the USA, and possibly India and Indonesia in the future, demonstrate the growing international interest in Central Asia. According to Pirimbaev, key economic issues of the 21st century will largely be resolved in this region.

The economist also noted that contradictions between major powers are escalating, and the world needs stable cooperation in this region.

“It is important not to depend on external countries, but to build a unified strategy for interaction among the five Central Asian states,” he added.

Pirimbaev also emphasized the need for consistent promotion of these issues at international forums to set strategic goals and define the economic role of the region.

“With proper coordination and structuring, significant results can be achieved,” he concluded.
