Now athletes will be able to secure spots not only at specialized tournaments but also based on their positions in the world ranking.
The first four licenses in each of the 18 Olympic weight categories will be contested at the 2027 World Championship.
According to information from UWW, this licensing championship is scheduled for the period from September 11 to 19. The venue has not yet been determined, but the USA has already put forward its candidacy.
The final decision on the location will be made during the 2026 World Championship, which will take place in Bahrain.
