Alexander Ovechkin surpassed Sergei Fedorov in assists in the NHL


In a recent NHL regular season game against the New York Islanders, held at Capital One Arena in Washington, Alexander Ovechkin made an assist, bringing his total number of assists to 821, including playoffs. This achievement allowed him to surpass Sergei Fedorov, who ended his career with 820 assists, and secure the 50th place on the list of the best assist leaders in league history.

The game ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the Capitals. This season, Ovechkin has already scored 22 goals and provided 25 assists in 57 games.

The record for the most assists, including both the regular season and playoffs, continues to belong to Wayne Gretzky, who has a total of 2,221 assists. Ovechkin's achievements highlight his outstanding position among the best hockey players in NHL history.
