Kamchy Tolopaldy uulu, a wrestler from the Ak-Tal district of the Naryn region, has been awarded the title of "Honorary Citizen of the Ala-Bugyn Ayil Aimak."

Aynura Medetova, head of the social and economic development department of the Ala-Bugyn Ayil Aimak, reported that in honor of Defender of the Fatherland Day, celebrated on February 23, Kamchy received a cash prize of 30,000 soms and the honorary title. Certificates were also awarded to wrestlers who placed in the international grappling tournament held last week.

Turmush reported that in the international grappling championship held in Bishkek, 9 athletes from this club participated, and 5 of them became prize winners. At the same time, Kamchy Tolopaldy uulu competed in the international freestyle wrestling tournament in the weight category up to 78 kg and won the championship belt.

Upon returning home, the winners were greeted with honors: Kamchy Tolopaldy uulu was traditionally gifted a horse, and the district leadership presented him with 20,000 soms and other prizes.

Kamchy Tolopaldy uulu also appealed to the authorities for the construction of a new sports hall in the village. "The current training takes place in a building that was once a hospital and later a kindergarten. It is heavily worn, not heated, and leaks during the rain. We opened the grappling hall named after Yrysbek uulu Turatbek in 2018 with the support of local residents and the then head of the ayil okmotu, Gulmayram Uchugonova, but the building is no longer suitable for training. We have between 50 to 70 children training with us, and we are achieving success, but the need for a new hall is obvious — it would allow us to prepare even more champions," noted Kamchy Tolopaldy uulu.
