During the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Chairman Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu reported that yesterday the relevant committee reviewed new versions of the text and music of the national anthem, but none of them were deemed satisfactory.
“As a result of the discussions in the committee, it was decided to return the projects for further refinement. Our task is not only to change the anthem but also to choose a version that will be accessible for people of all ages to perform. All proposed options have a march style, which makes them difficult for most citizens to sing. I am convinced that we should create works in a more free form, like the songs 'Kyrgyz zheri' or 'Mekenim meikin'. We must leave the march style of the Soviet era in the past. The anthem should be such that it can be sung not only at official events but also at celebrations. It represents a symbol of our unity and an important element of national identity, evoking pride in every Kyrgyzstani,” emphasized Nurlanbek Turghunbek uulu, urging the authors participating in the competition to pay attention to this important issue.
The chairman also added that the competition will continue, reminding that everyone is welcome to participate, and the winners will receive special prizes from the president.
