Artem Novikov, who holds the position of chairman of the board of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF), has been elected president of the Basketball Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.

In his address to the board members, he expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and emphasized that the development of sports and support for youth occupy an important place in state policy.

“I want to thank you for your trust and for the honor you have bestowed upon me by appointing me as the head of the Basketball Federation. Currently, sports and the development of youth sports culture are the top priorities for our country. President Sadyr Japarov constantly emphasizes the importance of sports, and significant efforts are directed towards this, including in football and wrestling. We are witnessing the successes of our athletes at the Olympic Games. I am confident that together we can increase interest in basketball,” he stated.

Artem Novikov also noted that in the coming months, the federation will focus on several key areas: the development of youth basketball, strengthening national teams, and expanding infrastructure for practicing this sport throughout the country.
