At an extraordinary meeting of the Board of the Basketball Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, a unanimous decision was made to appoint Artem Novikov as president.
According to the federation, after his election, the new president expressed gratitude to the board members for their trust and emphasized the importance of sports development, as well as support for youth initiatives, which, in his opinion, should occupy a central place in state policy.
Artem Novikov noted that President Sadyr Japarov has repeatedly raised the issue of the need to strengthen sports infrastructure in the country, and important steps have already been outlined in this direction.
He also added that one of the federation's priority tasks will be the development of youth basketball, as well as strengthening national teams and expanding opportunities for basketball practice throughout the country.
Congratulating Artem Novikov on his election, the chairman of the Basketball Federation, Niyaz Isakov, expressed confidence that the experience of the new president will be an important factor for the further progress of basketball in the Kyrgyz Republic.
