A fight broke out among deputies in the Turkish parliament during the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers

During the swearing-in ceremony of new ministers in the Turkish parliament, a clash occurred between deputies, as reported by Haberturk.

Deputies from the main opposition Republican People's Party took to the podium to disrupt the event, which led to verbal and physical conflicts with representatives of the ruling Justice and Development Party. As a result, a scuffle broke out, during which one deputy sustained a nose injury.

Despite the incident, the inauguration ceremony was completed, after which the parliamentary session was suspended.

Mustafa Ciftci, who previously served as the governor of Erzurum, was appointed as the Minister of Internal Affairs, while Akin Gurlak, a former prosecutor in Istanbul, became the Minister of Justice. The conflict erupted during the swearing-in of the new Minister of Justice.

In March of last year, Gurlak issued an arrest warrant for Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, which led to mass protests across the country. Opposition deputies expressed the opinion that he should not be involved in political activities.
