The demonstration took place on February 14 at the Theresienwiese, where participants, despite the rainy weather, came with posters and images of Reza Pahlavi, the Iranian opposition leader and son of the overthrown shah. When Pahlavi appeared at the rally, some of the protesters began to chant: "Long live the shah!"

The event was organized by the opposition group The Munich Circle, which called for a peaceful and democratic transition of power in Iran and demanded accountability from the current leadership of the country for repression and violence.

Before the start of the action, Reza Pahlavi himself expressed the need for a change in the political system in Iran. He noted that the recent protests in the country express a desire not just for reforms, but for a complete regime change.

In his address to U.S. President Donald Trump, Pahlavi mentioned that Iranians had heard his support and hoped for assistance from the United States.

At the same time, he emphasized that he does not seek to restore the monarchy and return to the throne, but wants the Iranian people to have the opportunity to choose their own government.

On the same day, protests also took place in other cities, such as Toronto and Los Angeles.

Nevertheless, the Iranian opposition continues to remain fragmented. Pahlavi faces criticism for his views on a number of foreign policy issues and the legacy of his father's rule.
