In the city of Buenos Aires this week, large-scale protest actions took place against the labor law reform initiated by Argentina's President Javier Milei. During the protests, which were held outside the Congress building, clashes occurred with law enforcement representatives.

According to Reuters, the Argentine Senate, after more than 13 hours of discussions, passed a key package of changes to labor legislation (42 votes in favor, 30 against). The reform includes the liberalization of labor laws, changes to hiring and firing conditions, as well as the introduction of restrictions on the right to strike with demands for a minimum level of services in case of work stoppages. The bill has now been sent to the lower house of parliament.

As reported by the Associated Press, the protests were organized by trade unions and were accompanied by serious clashes: the police used special means to disperse participants who attempted to break through the cordon.
