The reasons for such recommendations from the Polish Foreign Ministry are explained by the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the fact that the Russian side has officially declared Poland a "hostile" state.
Polish citizens currently in Russia are advised to leave the country by any available commercial or private means, except in cases where personal, family, or professional circumstances require their prolonged stay.
Additionally, the ministry noted that the ability to provide consular assistance to Polish citizens in Russia is significantly decreasing. This is due to the closure of Poland's consulates in St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad, which has negatively affected the number of diplomats and consular staff.
“In the event of a sharp deterioration in the security situation, border closures, or other unforeseen circumstances, evacuation may become significantly more complicated or even impossible,” the Polish Foreign Ministry warned.
