On February 19, Iran, together with Russia, conducted naval exercises in the Gulf of Oman and the northern part of the Indian Ocean. This was reported the same day by The Hill.
During these maneuvers, Russian and Iranian sailors practiced interaction techniques aimed at improving coordination of actions and exchanging military experience. As noted by Rear Admiral Hassan Maghsoudlu of the Iranian Navy, the purpose of the exercises was to strengthen security and establish reliable maritime cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, it was reported that before the start of the joint exercises, Iran conducted its own maneuvers, during which five missile launches were carried out towards the Strait of Hormuz.
The exercises took place against the backdrop of recent statements by U.S. President Donald Trump, who stated that Iran has a maximum of 10-15 days to reach an agreement with the United States. He emphasized that this timeframe is critical for reaching agreements.
