
During the conversation, the ministers exchanged views, taking into account the results of the recent indirect negotiations between the United States and Iran that took place in Geneva.
In a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was noted: "The parties discussed the issue of the Iranian nuclear program, including the outcomes of the U.S.-Iranian indirect contacts in Geneva."
The Russian side reaffirmed its commitment to the negotiation process aimed at finding political and diplomatic solutions, while emphasizing the need to respect Iran's legitimate rights under the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Additionally, various issues of mutual interest to both countries were addressed during the conversation.
As stated in the message, the Iranian side initiated the phone call.
