In Brazil, the number of flood victims has risen to 46

According to Reuters, citing the state fire service, more than 3,600 people from the cities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá have been forced to leave their homes.

The Juiz de Fora administration has urged residents of flood-prone areas to evacuate. Citizens are advised to go to temporary shelters set up by local authorities. In response to the situation, the federal government of Brazil has expedited aid to the region, sending medical specialists and national defense personnel.

As early as February 25, Brazilian officials reported 30 fatalities due to the effects of heavy rains and 440 evacuated citizens. Brazil experiences a rainy season from December to March each year, characterized by frequent downpours, flooding, and landslides. However, in February 2026, rainfall levels in the southern and eastern states exceeded average norms, with Juiz de Fora recording the rainiest month in its history.
