FSB reported on the smuggling of military engines from Russia to Kazakhstan

According to the investigation, an entrepreneur from the Moscow region made a deal through an intermediary to acquire nine diesel engines in the Kurgan region with the intention of sending them to Kazakhstan. These engines are classified as goods subject to export control; however, the sender lacked a license for their export, and false information was provided in the declaration.

The seizure of the engines occurred at the international checkpoint "Petukhovo." The Tyumen customs initiated a criminal case under Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the smuggling of dual-use goods, potentially leading to a punishment of up to ten years in prison.

Last week, the FSB also uncovered a network smuggling strategically important goods from Japan and South Korea in Primorye, as well as identified significant customs duty evasion. Preliminary estimates suggest that the damage exceeded 1 billion rubles. Two suspects were placed in custody, while two others were placed under house arrest.
