According to The New York Times, despite the officially declared mourning and religious broadcasts, the situation on the streets of many cities is quite different.

Videos are appearing on social media from Tehran and other major cities, where hundreds of cars are creating traffic jams, continuously honking their horns. In these videos, people can be seen dancing, singing, and setting off fireworks.

At the same time, Iranian state media are showing footage of dozens of citizens mourning the death of Khamenei.

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel began military actions against Iran. Earlier, in Tehran, information about Khamenei's death following an attack on his residence was denied for a whole day.
