In response to the current situation with air travel, the authorities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi have decided to extend the hotel stay for foreign tourists affected by flight cancellations or delays, reports the BELTA agency.
The Department of Economy and Tourism indicated that hotels should provide the opportunity to extend tourists' stays under the same conditions that were specified in the original booking. At the same time, the UAE government will cover the costs associated with the extension of the stay.
The statement also emphasizes: "This initiative is aimed at fully assisting and supporting foreign visitors in the context of rising tensions in the Middle East."
After the military actions by the USA and Israel against Iran on February 28, the airspace was closed to flights to Israel, Iran, Bahrain, Iraq, Qatar, Kuwait, and the UAE. As a result, some airlines were forced to cancel part of their flights, leaving tourists temporarily stranded abroad.
