In his address on state television, Jabari expressed confidence that world oil prices, which have reached $81, will soon rise to $200. He emphasized that the Hormuz Strait remains closed, and the forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the navy, and the army will be ready to set fire to any ships that attempt to pass through it.
Additionally, he noted that Iran will strike oil pipelines in the region and will not allow oil exports until pressure is applied to the enemy. Jabari also added that the U.S. has enormous debts and is seeking oil from this region, but will not receive a single drop.
The Hormuz Strait is a key maritime corridor for oil exports from the Persian Gulf countries. Following the outbreak of conflict in the Middle East, Iranian media reported that vessels in the area received notifications about the closure of the corridor from the IRGC. According to Reuters, more than 150 tankers are currently anchored in open waters. However, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on March 2 that Tehran does not plan to close the strait.
