Donald Trump also announced the conclusion of a "historic deal on gold." According to him, Venezuela has significant gold reserves and fertile land; however, the previous system did not allow the country to benefit from these resources.
The U.S. President noted: "We have reached an agreement that will allow our countries to cooperate in the sale of Venezuelan gold and other minerals."
On January 3, American forces conducted an operation against Venezuela, during which President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were detained. They were taken to New York, where they faced serious charges, including drug terrorism.
