Caring for fellow countrymen abroad, especially children, has always been an important part of Mongolian culture. A vivid example of this is a recent event.

A summer camp for Mongolian children has started in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.

As part of the "Asian Camp of Mongolian Language and Culture 2026" program, organized by the Mongolian Children's Home, Mongolian children living in Japan will spend three days and two nights in traditional Mongolian gers (yurts). During this time, they will immerse themselves in learning national songs and dances, try Mongolian cuisine, participate in a mini-naadam, and communicate in their native language, completely disconnecting from smartphones and screens.

At the opening of the camp, which took place on March 29, there were 33 children aged 6 to 14, representing branches of the Mongolian Children's Center from Tokyo, Tsukuba, Niigata, and Osaka. This year, the event has become a new step in organizing summer camps for Mongolian children in Japan, aimed at studying their native language and culture.

Nine educators are working at the camp: eight Mongolians and one Japanese, as well as five support staff. For consulting support, Gerelmaa Jamsranjav, a researcher at the National Institute for Educational Research of Mongolia, and a teacher from the Republic of Korea named Önurtsetseg are also expected.

The summer camp for children is supported by the "Ibaraki YMCA" organization, while "Mongolian Theme Park Japan" provides safe conditions for conducting events.

A representative of the Mongolian Children's Home reported that in the future they plan to expand similar programs to other countries in Asia, including South Korea and Taiwan.
