The situation in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky has become particularly critical, prompting local authorities to declare a state of emergency at the municipal level.

City services are struggling to eliminate the consequences of the inclement weather, and the current snowfall has been the heaviest in the last three decades.

According to the latest reports, two people have died as a result of snow falling from roofs. The body of a 60-year-old man was found near a two-story building, while a 62-year-old man died near a private house in the Seroglazki area.

Some residents of the neighborhoods found themselves trapped in stairwells, and some were able to make their way out on their own, while others exited onto the street through windows on the lower floors.
