Musk's attorney, Stephen Molo, stated: "The profits that OpenAI and Microsoft unlawfully obtained, which Mr. Musk is now entitled to reclaim, significantly exceed his initial investments."
In response to the lawsuit, OpenAI characterized Musk's claims as baseless and accused him of conducting a "campaign of harassment" against the company.
It is worth noting that in 2018, Musk left the board of directors of OpenAI due to disagreements, and in 2024, he sued the organization, claiming that the establishment of a commercial division and collaboration with Microsoft contradict the original goals of OpenAI, which was founded as a nonprofit entity.
Also, in December, OpenAI released documents that the company believes confirm that Musk himself supported the transition of OpenAI to a commercial direction, but later abandoned the idea due to a lack of control over the organization.
