Four years ago, the site of the new residential blocks at: Bishkek, Malikov Street, 91 was home to colony No. 47. Now, thanks to the state mortgage program, over a thousand Kyrgyz citizens have received the keys to their new apartments. On December 12, the second phase of the settlement of the "Muras" complex took place, which includes 39 residential blocks and 4,754 apartments. It is expected that by the end of the year, about 2,700 more families will receive their keys.

Journalists from Kaktus.media spoke with the new residents, who shared their impressions and stories.

Kanyshay Nurmatova arrived in Bishkek from Moscow and immediately headed to the ceremony to receive the keys to her two-room apartment, which she purchased by paying 50% of the cost. "I waited in line for a year and a half. We are a family of migrants, we have lived in Moscow for 20 years. I have four children, and now, perhaps, we will move here. I arrived at night, didn’t even have time to rest and came straight here. Although we are used to Moscow, we will adapt here too. This is our homeland," she shared.

Khalida Nestanbekova, who received the keys to her new apartment, does not hide her joy as she shows off her kitchen. She is already dreaming about cooking for her family. "We have a new home for the new year. We bought the apartment by paying 50% of the cost. I like everything. I have five children, and my husband is in business. I hope to cook a variety of dishes for my family in this kitchen," she said.

Another new resident came from Karakol. Her daughter, who works in Qatar, purchased the apartment with a mortgage and also paid 50% of the amount upfront. "We waited only two years. Today we are receiving the keys. We currently have a one-room apartment, but we will see what happens next. There is a school and a kindergarten here, all the conditions for a comfortable life. I am very glad that this day has finally come. Paying is not difficult, as we usually spent this money on rent. It’s better to pay for our own apartment. I am also happy that there are no payments for the first two months, and then the payment period will begin," she shared.

The "Muras" complex features a kindergarten, a school, and parking for 2,500 vehicles. The price per square meter is $950, which is significantly lower than the market price, which often exceeds $1,500. Of the 1,080 families who received keys, 360 became owners of one-room apartments, 432 of two-room apartments, and 288 of three-room apartments.

Currently, 80,245 mortgage apartments are being built across the country, of which 23,748 are located in the capital.

In the coming months, more than 20,000 apartments are planned to be built in Bishkek, Osh, Manas, Tokmok, Kara-Balta, Karakol, Cholpon-Ata, Balakchy, Naryn, Talas, Batken, as well as in Kochkor (Naryn region) and in the districts of Kara-Suu and Uzgen (Osh region). Since the start of the government program, 14,945 families have received housing.
