The First Deputy Minister of Health Aibek Matkerimov reported on the shortage of qualified personnel in the field of assistance and treatment for children suffering from autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other rare diseases, at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which addresses labor, health, women's affairs, and social issues.

He added that discussions are currently underway with the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA) about the establishment of a new faculty dedicated to training specialists in this field.

In addition, Matkerimov emphasized that there are plans to train family doctors and nurses so that they can timely identify such cases and respond appropriately.

The committee is also reviewing information on the implementation of the resolution of the Jogorku Kenesh concerning children with autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
