The Ministry of Health and UNICEF Strengthen Cooperation in Immunization and Digitalization

On February 12, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan, where the Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Temirbek Erkinov, met with Samman Jung Tapa, the UNICEF representative in the country.

During this meeting, current issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation in the field of health were discussed, including the sustainability of vaccine supplies, improving procurement and distribution mechanisms, as well as the effectiveness of immunization programs.

UNICEF representatives provided information on support for strengthening the cold chain, including achieving 80% coverage with specialized equipment, as well as the supply of refrigerators and pickups for the safe delivery of vaccines to medical facilities in the country.

The discussion also touched on important aspects of ensuring the quality and safety of vaccines supplied through UNICEF, as well as issues related to the digitalization of procurement and logistics management for vaccines. In this context, information was presented about UNICEF's plans to build a National Vaccine Warehouse with a budget of $1,267,000.

The parties also discussed the coordination of joint actions on ongoing projects and programs aimed at strengthening the immunization system, enhancing health resilience, and expanding access to preventive services for the population.

Additionally, the meeting confirmed interest in further developing the partnership, including the preparation of a Joint Action Plan for 2026-2027 and expanding technical and expert support, as well as sharing experiences in vaccine procurement management.
