A meeting with a UNICEF representative took place at the Ministry of Health

On February 13, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Health between the Deputy Minister for Digital Development, Temirbek Erkinov, and the UNICEF representative in the Kyrgyz Republic, Samman Jung Tapa.

The press service of the Ministry of Health reported that the agenda included discussions on the current state and future of bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare. In particular, emphasis was placed on ensuring stable vaccine supplies, improving procurement and distribution mechanisms, as well as enhancing the effectiveness of immunization programs. UNICEF presented data on significant assistance in strengthening the cold chain, achieving 80% coverage with specialized equipment, as well as the supply of refrigerators and pickup trucks for the safe transportation of vaccines to medical institutions.

Key attention was given to the quality and safety of vaccines supplied through UNICEF, as well as the digitalization of management processes in procurement and logistics. Modern information solutions that could enhance the transparency of procedures and strengthen the supply monitoring system were discussed. Participants emphasized the importance of digital tools for timely planning, accounting, and control of medical resources. Temirbek Erkinov was informed about UNICEF's plans to build a National Vaccine Warehouse with a total budget of $1,267,000.

The parties also discussed the coordination of joint actions within the framework of implemented programs and projects aimed at strengthening the national immunization system, increasing healthcare resilience, and improving access to preventive services for the population.

During the meeting, mutual interest was expressed in further developing the partnership, including the preparation of a Joint Action Plan for 2026-2027. Ways to expand technical and expert support, as well as the exchange of experience in vaccine procurement management, were also discussed.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue, strengthen cooperation, and jointly implement initiatives aimed at improving the effectiveness of the healthcare system and the sustainable development of the immunization program in the Kyrgyz Republic.
