On March 26, Kyrgyzstan will hold the event "Oral Health Day," dedicated to the International Oral Health Day, which is celebrated every year on March 20. This was reported by the Ministry of Health.
The main goal of the event is to prevent dental diseases among children, inform the public about the importance of regular check-ups, foster a culture of oral health, and increase the level of responsibility for one’s own health and the health of children.
As part of this campaign, dentists will offer the following services:
examination of children for preventive purposes;
professional oral hygiene;
sealant application for permanent teeth fissures in children aged 6 to 14;
education on proper oral hygiene.
What is fissure sealing?
Fissure sealing is an effective method for preventing cavities on children's molars.
Fissures are the grooves on the chewing surface of teeth where food residues and bacteria often accumulate. A special protective material is used to "seal" these areas, which prevents the development of cavities.
The procedure is painless, safe, and particularly effective during the growth of permanent teeth.
Those who wish to participate are advised to contact local dental clinics and make appointments in advance to avoid waiting and make the visit more comfortable.
The Ministry also announced that a list of clinics participating in the campaign will be published soon.
