The Ministry of Finance and the World Bank discussed projects for improving air quality and developing small businesses

- Deputy Minister of Finance Nurbek Akzholov held a meeting with representatives of the World Bank, according to information published by the Ministry of Finance's press service.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the implementation of joint initiatives aimed at sustainable socio-economic development of the country.

Particular attention was paid to two key projects: "Improving Air Quality in the Kyrgyz Republic" and "Developing a Sustainable Financial Market for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)."

As part of the first project, participants reviewed important steps, including the launch of a credit line for the implementation of clean technologies in heating, as well as cooperation with commercial banks and informing the public about new initiatives.

"Our focus is on promoting the air quality improvement project, which includes launching a credit line and engaging with financial institutions, as well as educating the public," emphasized the Deputy Minister of Finance.

The Ministry also presented information on the current progress of the project and the anticipated funding volumes for 2026.

During the discussion of the second project, the parties talked about how to improve entrepreneurs' access to financing and implement modern financial instruments for MSMEs.

World Bank representatives noted the importance of these initiatives for enhancing the quality of life of citizens, strengthening environmental sustainability, and supporting entrepreneurship, and confirmed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in further strengthening the partnership and working together on projects aimed at the sustainable development of the Kyrgyz Republic.
